Welcome, Professor Schmitz Weiss!

• a bit about myself •

My name is Riley Carr and I am a third year public relations student here at San Diego State University. I am originally from Boston, Massachusetts, but I chose to study in San Diego with the hope of one day moving to Los Angeles and working in the entertainment and fashion public relations industry. Right now, I am in the process of starting my own lifestyle, fashion and travel blog. With inspirations such as Sivan Ayla and Danielle Bernstein, fashion bloggers who used their social media platforms to launch and market clothing lines, my goal is to build upon my social media following and one day do the same.

I am interested in learning more about media entrepreneurship because I want to expand upon my knowledge of how the two industries merge. Most of the courses that I have taken in college thus far were focused around public relations and media studies, but I have yet to learn about any subject in the field of business. In media entrepreneurship, I expect to learn more about the stages of the business model design process, ideation and prototyping. I look forward to being able to apply what I learn in this course to my career goals and future aspirations.
